Cheap pricing by itself does not establish whether a license is authorized or unauthorized. The useful question is whether the software maker recognizes the seller and the activation method.

1. Ask the software maker

Send the product URL and seller name to the vendor. Ask whether the seller is authorized and whether the advertised activation method is permitted.

2. Use official verification tools

Where the vendor provides a license checker, use it directly. Do not rely only on a seller-controlled “active” badge.

3. Preserve the offer before it changes

Save the exact URL, date, screenshots and wording. Public pages can change after a report is submitted.

4. Do not run unexplained root commands

A production server is not the place to experiment with unknown activation scripts. Verify the method first.

5. Separate facts from conclusions

A vendor can confirm reseller status. Broader legal conclusions require separate evidence.
